چکیده

We present a numerical model for two-phase porous media ̄ow, where the phases are separated by a sharp interface. The model is based on a uni®ed pressure equation, and an advection equation for tracking a pseudo-concentration function. The zero-level set of this function de®nes the interface between the ̄uids. The ®nite element method is used for spatial discretization, with local grid re®nements in the vicinity of the interface. Examples on applications involving moving interface and steady-state seepage problems are investigated. Ó 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.

EXACT SOLUTIONS FOR FLOW OF A SISKO FLUID IN PIPE

By means of He's homotopy perturbation method (HPM) an approximate solution of velocity eld is derived for the ow in straight pipes of non-Newtonian uid obeying the Sisko model. The nonlinear equations governing the ow in pipe are for- mulated and analyzed, using homotopy perturbation method due to He. Furthermore, the obtained solutions for velocity eld is graphically sketched...

Multiphase processes involve interactions between several different phases, such as fl uid to fl uid or fl uid to solid. Multiple phases constitute a very important area of research with many highly prioritised and important applications, such as droplet deposition, underwater explosions and micro-jetting devices. When studying such processes with the aim of ultimately utilising them in practic...

Transformation Approaches for Simulating Flow in

Sharp fronts with rapid changes in uid saturations over short distance and time scales often exist in multiphase ow in subsurface systems. Such highly nonlinear problems are notoriously diicult to solve, and standard solution approaches are often ineecient and unreliable. We summarize four existing and one new transformation method (IT2) for solving Richards' equation within a common framework ...
